Description
This 2.9″ display module features a 128×296 resolution, delivering sharp images in four distinct colors – black, white, yellow, and red. With a fast 25-second full-screen refresh rate, it is an ideal choice for e-readers, wearables, and portable devices.
Features
- Vibrant Red and Yellow Display: Showcase red and yellow colors more than just black and white, resulting in striking visuals and clear information.
- Enhanced Contrast: Ensures that images and text stand out sharply, making it perfect for effectively conveying information.
- Wide Viewing Angle: Greater than 170 degree, unaffected by light direction.
- Ultra Low Power Consumption: Consumes minimal power, standby mode below 0.003mW
- Bi-stable and Ultra-Reflective: Operating in a bi-stable manner, it retains images without power consumption, while its ultra-reflective properties ensure easy readability even in different lighting conditions.
Description
This 2.9″ Quadruple Color ePaper Display offers a resolution of 128×296 and employs active matrix TFT substrate with reflective electrophoretic technology. Images in black, white, yellow, and red are available, with a full-screen refresh time of 25 seconds. An integrated circuitry with gate and source drivers, a timing controller, an oscillator, a DC-DC boost circuit, memory for frame buffer and lookup tables, and controls for VCOM and BORDER settings ensure efficient and dynamic performance.
What is an E-Paper?
E-Paper, short for Electronic Paper, is a type of display technology that aims to mimic the appearance of traditional paper and ink. It’s designed to provide high contrast and readability in various lighting conditions, including direct sunlight, without the need for a backlight. E-Paper displays use tiny microcapsules containing charged particles suspended in a liquid to produce images. When an electric field is applied, the particles move to the top or bottom of the microcapsules, resulting in different shades or colors being visible to the viewer. E-Paper is often used in e-readers, electronic shelf labels, smartwatches, and other devices where energy efficiency and readability are essential.
Advantages Over Traditional Displays
E-Paper displays offer advantages over traditional displays, including better readability like paper, visibility in sunlight, low energy consumption, thin design, wide viewing angles, and longer battery life. They are ideal for portable devices and environments where glare and power efficiency matter.
